Mustangs Name William Plichta as Head Softball Coach

Montgomery County Community College has named William J. Plichta, of Trappe, Pa., as the new head softball coach for the Mustangs.

Plichta has served as the recreation director for the Municipality of Norristown for the past 33 years, and he has 25 years of experience coaching softball in the Greater Philadelphia area. Plichta’s most recent coaching experience includes serving as head softball coach for Penn State University’s Abington Campus and as assistant softball coach for Ursinus College.

In addition, Plitcha was the founder and head coach of the Perkiomen Valley High School softball program. He also coached at Plymouth Whitemarsh High School.

Plichta has served as a softball coach for the Keystone State Games, and in 2000, he was named Coach of the Year by the Philadelphia Association of Intercollegiate Athletics for Women (PAIAW) for his work at Penn State Abington. He holds an associate’s degree from Penn State University and a bachelor’s degree from Temple University.
