• The College’s Public Services Training Unit provided training and certifications to almost 9,000 volunteer firefighters, emergency medical specialists, and police officers in 2008
• Many of the College’s health sciences programs are also accredited through their own professional accrediting bodies. These programs include:
  • The Medical Assisting and Surgical Technology programs are accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Programs.
  • The Nursing program is accredited by the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLN).
  • The Medical Laboratory Technician program and Phlebotomy course are accredited by the National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Sciences (NAACLS).
  • The Radiography program is accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT).
  • The Dental Hygiene program is accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation.

Several programs and services outside health sciences have also earned accreditation from their respective professional organizations including the waste water treatment operator certification from the Department of Environmental Protection and the Continuing Education Program from the Department of Community and Economic Development.

• Additionally, the Fire Science program is accredited by the International Fire Science Accreditation Congress (IFSAC). The Children’s Center is accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC).
